The Baltimore Chapter of the National Aging in Place Council is a growing group of 37 professionals that all provide services and information to area senior s that want to age in their homes. Our goal is to provide "one stop shopping" for information and education for seniors that want to know more about services and products that can help them stay in their home. If you are a senior and would like some more information or if you are caring for a senior and trying to help them age in their homes, please give us a call or an email and let us know how we can help. You can be sure that no matter which of our professionals you choose to get more information from, you will be dealing with someone that holds the highest standards of integrity and service.
Some of the programs that the Baltimore Chapter currently participates in are:
Ask the Expert Panels— These panels are held at local senior centers and other locations in which 4-6 of our professionals each do a 2 minute overview of their profession or service and 5 minutes of questions and answers. There is no selling involved, just education and information. Please contact us if you would like to host this free event.
Adopt a Senior Center— Each of our members have "adopted" a senior center in the Greater Baltimore Area. The members stop by the centers once a month to drop off resource guides, newsletters and to find out how our organization can assist the members of the senior center. If you have a senior center and would like to be adopted, please contact us.
Senior Expo— For the past two years, the Baltimore Chapter has participated in the Senior Expo at the Timonium Fairgrounds. At our booth, we have information about our members, chapter and let the local seniors know that we are here to help them. In 2009, we also requested that Governor Martin O’Malley declare Oct 12-18th National Aging In Place week, which he gladly did. To view the governor’s proclamation, please click here.
In 2010, our chapter plans to participate to continue these programs, as well as volunteer with Meals on Wheels and Adopt a Senior for the Holidays.
