Since 2009 the Rhode Island based franchise of Comfort Keepers has been locally owned and operated by Bob Weber. Bob’s passion for care giving and concern for the elderly led him to Comfort Keepers where he continues to build an outstanding reputation as a premier interactive, non medical provider of in-home care. Comfort Keepers, a franchise headquartered in Dayton, Ohio has over 550 independently owned and operated office internationally. Comfort Keepers provides more than just in-home care services. We offer clients a level of comfort that helps preserve their dignity and provides a quality of life that can only be achieved at home. We are also there to give help for family and friends coping with the emotional challenges and additional time burden inevitably associated with this kind of situation.
 
Bob has worked as an elementary education and high school teacher for 10 years and in the private sector for over 20 years. His interest in caring for the elderly comes from personal experience. He and his wife, Gerri, were primary caregivers for both his wife’s parents and actually used Comfort Keepers to do in home care before buying the Rhode Island franchise in 2009. Bob is a member of the Society of Certified Senior Advisors and Senior Agenda Coalition of RI, serves as a board member for the RI chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and is a charter member of the National Aging in Place Council of which he is very proud to be a member.
 
Comfort Keepers has a dedicated staff of caregivers that are bonded, insured and covered under our workers’ compensation. All caregivers are required to undergo annual federal and state background checks, a department of motor vehicle check and provide both personal and professional references. Companion caregivers are required to complete a 25 hour state mandated training course that includes hands on experience. Certified Nursing Assistants are required to be licensed by the state of Rhode Island and both Companion caregivers and CNAs are involved in continuous education programs.
 
Caregiving for loved ones consist of two levels of service – Companion Care and Personal Care. For those who may need just a little help Comfort Keepers provides services such as companionship, transportation, errands and grocery shopping, meal preparation, light housekeeping including laundry and linens and medication reminders. Personal Care services include bathing, grooming and hygiene, mobility assistance, transferring and positioning, toileting and incontinence care and feeding and special diet. Regular communication and reviews with family are provided through our staff Registered Nurse. Comfort Keepers also provides dementia and Alzheimer’s care as well as respite and relief for family and primary caregivers from a few hours a day to round the clock assistance.
 
As an additional service, Comfort Keepers provides in home care technology solutions through our Safety Choice program. Whether a response to an emergency or medication management, Safety Choice technology, provided by Comfort Keepers, means help is always at hand. Our Safety Choice personal emergency response system complements our in home services with around-the-clock monitoring so you know that help is always available.
