The new catch phrase among homeowners is “aging in place.” Instead of selling their homes and moving into retirement villages or assisted-living quarters, a growing number of older Americans are modifying their homes to make them more user-friendly as they age. Read More

Eric G. Rovner, Benevia
Company Founder

Benevia (bene·via - meaning good path or good way) is a phone-based concierge service that coordinates the complex life transition faced by older adults and their families. Whether a transition involves moving or staying at home with support, a Benevia Transition Coordinator acts as a single point of contact for the family in evaluating their needs, which may include Relocation Needs (On-Site Move Management, moving companies, real estate sales, trash hauling, etc.), Home Care Needs (home care, placement service, home modification), and/or Professional Needs (legal, financial, estate planning).

Based on the full scope of needs identified, the Transition Coordinator develops a master transition plan to address each need and coordinates required services with members of the Benevia Provider Network. All network providers have been through a comprehensive screening process, ensuring that they meet high quality standards and are equipped to serve the unique needs of older adults. The Transition Coordinator stays involved throughout the entire transition process, scheduling meetings between the family and network service providers, confirming appointments, and conducting follow-up calls to make sure that each service performed was satisfactory and all needs have been met.

Rod has been making home loans  for the past 39 years and takes pride in securing home financing for thousands of satisfied customers.  Rod made his first reverse mortgage to his parents 5 years ago which allowed them to stay at home and age in the place of their choosing.  They are now 97 and 94 years old.  Educating seniors and their families about reverse mortgages is a passion for Rod.  Seniors on fixed incomes with little or no mortgage balance often feel the only way they can make ends meet and access their equity is to sell their homes even though they desperately do not want to relocate or downsize.  A reverse mortgage may not be the answer in every situation but for many seniors who would prefer to Age In Place a reverse mortgage may be the perfect answer.  Reverse mortgages are now available at no cost on certain products and many changes have been mandated by FHA making reverse mortgages more affordable than ever.
